Chapter 6: Of Cursed Memories

Lorch: Al Quelt Moreza, you say?

Lorch: Damn it, I can’t believe I’m really doing this.

Lorch: Ran off for this…

Lorch: But this is the only way.

Lorch: The only way for me to prove that I can do it.

Lorch: Shit, there’s that memory again. It has always been bugging me since I left home. To remember the past, it hasn't always been my favorite past time. It's more like a curse that I have to go through everyday. Ever since that day, it has been hard for all of us...

Lorch: I’m here to get away from it all. This can’t be going through over my head every time.

*Lorch enters an adjacent room*

Lorch: Is that a person over there? Hey you, are you alright?

Cyrus: My arms…

Lorch: Damn it, it’s severely injured. You may have fractured bones. Who did this to you? Or what?

Cyrus: …

Lorch: Let me help.

Lorch: Here drink up. *Hands over a Healing Ampule*

Cyrus: Thank you.

Lorch: Shit, did those creatures do this to you? Where do these things come from? They keep spawning.

Cyrus: Dilos Lantemn. I saw his memory. Or rather, I felt his memory. I don’t know how it happened, and I don’t have any proof that it did happen. But it felt like I was taken to hundred years ago when the land of Granado Espada was still untainted. There, Dilos set up his Church and did good deeds.

Lorch: What sorcery is this? You mean to say that a ghost took you back to the past? I've heard about this place's history, but never believed it. A ghost that can take you back to the past?

Cyrus: Not a ghost sir, but a memory. And not the past, but again...just a memory.

Lorch: Call me Lorch, and I still have to tend your wounds.

Cyrus: Thank you Sir Lorch, I am Cyrus Silva. You have my debt.

*Outside Al Quelt Moreza*

Lucrezia: Here we go again.

Lucius: We must be more careful now, there’s just the two of us and both of us are unfamiliar with this place.

Lucrezia: Yes yes.

Lucius: Wait!

Lucrezia: It’s that person again. Back from the Port.

Lucius: Over there!

Lucrezia: Is it leading us? Wait! Who are you?

Lucius: Let’s hurry.

Lucrezia: Hey! She disappeared.

Lucius: Lucrezia! Over there! It’s Cyrus.

Lucrezia: Cyrus!

Cyrus: It’s milady.

Lorch: Huh? Those two…

Dilos: Insolent fools!

Cyrus: It’s him! Dilos Lantemn! Be careful milady! *tried to get up*

Lorch: Let me handle this, stay here.

Lucrezia: It’s strong. Move back! Stay away from its range.

Lucius: We’re too far! We can’t hit him from here.

Lorch: We don’t need to hit him from here. We’ll have him come over here.

Lucius: But we’ll be within his range.

Lorch: Just watch me. *sets up a trap*

Lorch: Now run this way!

*They run towards where Cyrus is. The trap explodes creating an explosion which seemed to engulf Dilos Lantemn.*

Cyrus: Milady Lucrezia! Lucius!

Lucrezia: Cyrus!

Lucius: We’ll have more of this later. It’s still after us!

Lucrezia: Damn it. I have no choice. I’m opening the “Gate” now!

Cyrus: Wait!

Lucrezia: …

Cyrus: Let me.

Cyrus: Dilos Lantemn, you are no sinner. Do not atone for the sins that you did not commit. I saw it all! Your memories. Your memories which fill this ruins. You have done all you can to save the New World from being a barren land once again. It is through your efforts that the New World is safe from the creatures of the other world.

Dilos: My efforts, weren’t enough. They still lurk Granado Espada. I cannot protect this new land.

Cyrus: But you have done your best. You have at least kept them from leaving this place. You have protected Granado Espada. Now Dilos, set your memories free and no longer must you bind yourself to the past. For memories are just things of the past meant to make you grow and make you stronger, but like all things of the past, memories can never hurt you… as long as you keep them as memories.

Dilos: …

Lucius: He disappeared.

Lucrezia: He will come back. We were just able to rest this small part of his memory. But as long as his soul suffers, his memory will always fill these ruins of Al Quelt Moreza.

Lucius: How do you know this milady?

Lucrezia: When I tried to open the gate, it somehow…told me.

Lorch: Then I don’t see any reason staying here. We must go back to the city.

Lucrezia: Agreed…Mister...

Lorch: Furholden. But please call me Lorch.
